Throughout his illustrious career, he collaborated with numerous A-list celebrities such as Julie Andrews, James Garner, and Chuck Norris. Additionally, during his tenure as president of Newslink Corp., he played a significant part in revolutionizing how entertainment news was disseminated.

1965 marked the start of Gary Gerety’s career in the entertainment industry when he joined MGM. His initial role was as a regional advertising publicity representative, working in various cities such as Chicago, Atlanta, and Dallas. After a short stint away from MGM with Durwood Theaters (which later became AMC Theaters), Gerety returned to MGM in 1972. He remained there until its merger with United Artists, and upon the dissolution of their theatrical distribution arm, he moved on to American International Pictures.

Later on, Gerety assumed the presidency of Newslink Corp. in 1981, playing a significant role in transforming how entertainment news was disseminated. In the mid-1980s, he also became associated with Hanson & Schwam Public Relations, eventually rising to the position of executive vice president.
