As a die-hard fan of the gripping sci-fi drama Silo, I must say that the fate of Juliette (played brilliantly by Rebecca Ferguson) has left me on the edge of my seat! The Cleaning Ceremony, a chilling tradition that’s as ominous as it sounds, had many believing our beloved Juliette was doomed. But oh, how wrong they were!
Spectators are eager to learn about the fate of Rebecca Ferguson’s character, Juliette, following her departure from the Silo. This interest stems from the enigmatic Cleaning Ceremony she experienced. During this ritual, individuals would climb above the Silo and clean camera lenses, an act historically lethal for those who took part in it.
So, did Juliette die after leaving the Silo? Did she survive? Here is Juliette’s fate explored.
Did Juliette die after leaving the Silo?
Juliette did not die after leaving the Silo.
At the conclusion of Season 1, Juliette – embroiled in a plot to seize control of the Silo from the malevolent Judicial Branch – is compelled to undergo the Cleaning Ceremony following her arrest. Similar to several others who had participated in this ritual and perished afterwards, including Allison and former Sheriff Becker, Juliette ascends outside the Silo to clean the camera lens broadcasting the external world to the residents, donning a hazmat suit to shield herself from the poisonous atmosphere.
As I step out into the unknown, I realize I’m still alive. The world beyond this silo is a stark contrast to what I left behind. I see a massive crater encircling our shelter, not just one but many of them scattered around. In the distance, there’s a city, its structure weak and broken, a testament to some long-past cataclysm.
Ultimately, it was discovered that those who had taken part in the Cleaning Ceremony prior to Juliette were murdered due to flaws in their hazmat suits’ seals, which made them susceptible to the harmful air and caused poisoning. The defects in the seals were deliberately introduced by the leaders within the Silo as a means to eliminate rebels and dissenters.
In a turn of fortunate events, it was due to Martha Walker, Juliette’s friend and mentor-like figure, that Juliette managed to make it through the ordeal. Martha, who Juliette had previously assisted and cared for with tapes, arranged things so that the seal on Juliette’s hazmat suit was flawless. This individual working in supplies made a promise to ensure the suit provided Juliette with a perfect barrier of protection.
Silo is currently streaming on Apple TV Plus.
