What Happened to IShowSpeed? YouTube Ban Explained

As an ardent fan who’s followed IShowSpeed‘s wild rides since the days of FIFA tasing and car-jumping antics, it’s hard not to feel a pang of disappointment at his latest predicament. The guy’s a daredevil, sure, but he’s also a master at entertaining us with his over-the-top stunts.

People are curious to find out why the YouTube sensation, Darren Jason Watkins Jr., better known as IShowSpeed, was suspended from YouTube, and they’re eager to learn how long this ban will last. Recently, IShowSpeed has gained popularity among viewers for his over-the-top stunts such as playing FIFA while being tasered and jumping cars on the road, in addition to sharing vlogs of his travels and participating in video game live stream challenges.

What caused IShowSpeed’s YouTube ban, and for how long will it last? We’ve gathered all the information available on this intriguing topic.

Why was IShowSpeed banned from YouTube?

IShowSpeed was banned from YouTube for violating community guidelines.

It’s said that he breached community rules during a live broadcast where he leaped over two expensive sports cars, a Lamborghini and McLaren, one after the other. The live stream showing him jumping over these luxury vehicles has been taken down. Nevertheless, footage of this risky stunt is still accessible on his X platform (previously known as Twitter).

On August 5th, it was confirmed by IShowSpeed’s editor, Slipz (using his X account), that the community guidelines violation leading to potential bans had indeed occurred.

Previously, this streamer has apparently received bans from YouTube on several occasions due to breaches of the platform’s regulations. Some examples include broadcasting a Minecraft mod containing explicit sexual content and illegally streaming the 2022 FIFA Football Awards ceremony concurrently with FIFA streaming it themselves on their own channel.

Beyond that, I’ve had my share of platform bans, as reported by GameRant. This year alone, PlayStation suspended my PSN account due to suspected inappropriate conduct on LittleBigPlanet. Upon further investigation, I uncovered that it was actually my younger half-brother Dian who was behind the situation.

How long has IShowSpeed been banned for?

IShowSpeed has been reportedly banned for two weeks.

According to an authenticated fan page belonging to the live-streamer, Speedy HQ, it’s been reported that an appeal has been made against the imposed sanction. They’ve also mentioned they will provide further information on the ban situation once it becomes available.

As a long-time enthusiast of extreme sports, I’ve seen my fair share of daring stunts that push the limits of human capability and machine power. But Speed’s latest livestream, where he jumped over two supercars, takes it to a whole new level. The raw adrenaline and sheer skill on display were electrifying. However, it seems that this time, Speed may have gone too far. His livestream has been struck for dangerous activities, and he’s facing a two-week ban from going live.
