1937 saw the birth of Yulin in Los Angeles. Later, he kick-started his acting journey in New York City’s theater world. His first stage appearance was in 1963 with “Next Time I’ll Sing to You,” followed by performances on Broadway in plays such as “Watch on the Rhine,” “The Price,” “The Visit,” and “Hedda Gabler.
Back in the ’70s, I took my first steps on the silver screen with End of the Road and Maidstone. Fast forward through time, and you’ll find me diving into a variety of roles – Multiplicity, Training Day, Game 6, and Candy Mountain among them. On the small screen, I became a regular face in Ozark, Billions, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Veep, and even graced the set of Frasier, earning an Emmy nod in ’96.
Weeks prior to his passing, Harris Yulin had been gearing up to film ‘American Classic’ alongside Kevin Kline and Laura Linney. Director Michael Hoffman expressed, “Harris Yulin was undeniably one of the most exceptional artists I have ever come across.” He further stated, “He will forever be the soul of our production.
Apart from that, he boasted a considerable career in film direction. Among his works were “The Glass Menagerie,” “The Trip to Bountiful,” and “This Lime Tree Bower.” Additionally, he imparted his knowledge of acting at The Juilliard School, Columbia University, and HB Studios.
