As a long-time fan of Judge Mathis, it’s always been fascinating to witness his journey from a Michigan courtroom to the small screen. His wit, wisdom, and compassion have made him a beloved figure for many, including myself. However, the recent news about his separation from Linda after 39 years of marriage is indeed disheartening.

Are the Judge Mathis star, Greg, and wife, Linda, getting divorced?
Indeed, following a union spanning 39 years, Judge Greg Mathis and his spouse Linda Mathis have opted to end their relationship and move forward individually, according to recent accounts.
On Thursday, August 22, 2024, TMZ reported that it was Linda Mathis who started the divorce process. The documents they obtained suggest that she filed for divorce due to irreconcilable differences, providing no additional information about the reasons behind the couple’s decision to separate.
According to court documents, Linda Mathis has requested alimony, and furthermore, she has chosen to prevent the court from granting Greg Mathis alimony as well.
The pair have been apart since July 17, according to TMZ’s report, though it remains unclear if they have a premarital agreement in place. Yet, there won’t be any court disputes regarding custody or child support as their children from the Mathis family are now grown up.
Back in June of ’85, Linda and I, Greg Mathis, tied the knot after we both graduated from Eastern Michigan University. We’ve been blessed with four wonderful kids since then. Our eldest daughter is Jade Mathis, followed by Camara Mathis. Our youngest boys are my namesake, Greg Jr., and Amir Mathis, who were born in ’89 and ’90 respectively.
Originally a Michigan 36th District Court Judge who retired, Gregory Mathis first appeared on television as Judge Mathis back in 1999. Over the course of 24 seasons, this popular series was broadcast.
