It was announced that he died tranquilly surrounded by loved ones in Cape Town during the early morning hours of March 20, 2025, according to BBC Sport.

Ever since it was announced that Eddie Jordan had passed away, heartfelt tributes and condolences for his family have been flooding in. Stefano Domenicali described Jordan as a “pivotal figure in the world of F1.” Domenicali’s statement goes on to say, “We are devastated by the sudden demise of Eddie Jordan. His infectious enthusiasm never failed to bring joy, and he consistently maintained his authenticity and brilliance. Eddie was indeed a key player in the history of F1, and his absence will be profoundly felt. In this difficult time, my thoughts, as well as those of the entire Formula 1 community, are with his family and close ones.
