Why did DJ Khaled delete his album announcement?
More recently, DJ Khaled removed the news regarding two collaborations with Drake on his upcoming album “Aalam of God,” following Drake’s reply which suggested some confusion between them.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, DJ Khaled announced his collaboration with Drake using the caption “This is the one with [2] DRAKES!” However, Drake commented, “It seems to be @drakebell,” implying that he was either unaware of or not fully committed to the project. In September 2023, it appeared DJ Khaled hinted at including two songs by Drake in his upcoming album. During the It’s All a Blur Tour, he joined Drake on stage and showed a sign revealing his 2024 album would contain tracks from the Toronto rapper. Fans found this announcement believable given their past collaborations on popular songs like “Popstar,” “Greece,” and “I’m On One.” This recent announcement seems to be a continuation of that earlier tease, hinting at more collaboration between the two artists.
Drake’s casual remark on the post seemed to spark doubts about their collaboration. The mention of Drake Bell, a former Nickelodeon star, could imply either a playful misunderstanding or a conscious attempt to distance himself from DJ Khaled’s statements. Additionally, Khaled promptly removing the post added to the suspicion that there might have been some confusion over Drake’s role in the album.
Even though he deleted the post, Khaled persists with his God’s Favorite Artist (Aalam of God) release, as evidenced by his recent sharing of a clip featuring JAY-Z and Timbaland.
Currently, Drake’s focus is on his Anita Max Win Tour across Australia and New Zealand. Adding to this, he might be working on a joint album with PartyNextDoor, which could shift his attention away from Khaled’s plans.
