What Happened Between Channing Tatum & Jenna Dewan? Divorce Explained

As a gamer who has lived through multiple in-game divorces, I can say that the real-life drama between Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan feels like a high-stakes mission with unexpected twists and turns. The Magic Mike franchise profits dispute is akin to finding the elusive golden chest in a video game level – only instead of gold, it’s money, and instead of a digital world, it’s the real world.

In 2009, American actor Channing Tatum and actress Jenna Dewan got married. They first crossed paths on the set of Step Up in 2006, and their wedding came three years later. Their marriage produced a daughter named Everly, born in 2013. Unfortunately, their union lasted only ten years as they finalized their divorce in 2019. However, there are still ongoing discussions regarding the settlement. This article delves into the specifics of Tatum and Dewan’s divorce and the most recent developments.

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan divorce explained

Following their split in 2018, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan obtained legal dissolution in 2019; however, they have not yet concluded the remaining financial aspects of their divorce proceedings.

The couple, who first crossed paths on the movie set of Step Up back in 2006 and tied the knot in 2009, have a daughter named Everly. Their divorce, which occurred not long ago, was generally simple; however, there’ve been new complications regarding the distribution of property, primarily concerning profits from Tatum’s Magic Mike series. According to InTouch Weekly, Dewan is requesting a portion of these profits, while Tatum remains reluctant to disclose any relevant documents.

As reported by the previously mentioned source based on court records, Dewan alleges that the actor hindered the disclosure of documents concerning his Magic Mike ventures. Yet, the actor supposedly disagrees with her demand for half but concedes she’s entitled to a share. Moreover, he argues that he engaged in the business post their separation, which should factor into the profit division.

According to an exclusive report by InTouch, Channing’s lawyer has stated that not only has Channing declined to provide crucial documents during his deposition, but he has also hired the same law firm, Glaser Weil, which prepared many of the documents from their marriage, and is now claiming attorney-client privilege for those marital documents created by the firm. The lawyer further noted that Channing can’t use this privilege to prevent Jenna from acquiring relevant evidence during his deposition. At present, both parties are awaiting a decision from the judge regarding this issue.
