In 2020 at WrestleMania 36, The Undertaker retired from active wrestling in a highly-acclaimed match against AJ Styles, which was a unique Boneyard match that garnered tremendous fan approval.
On January 6th, during the Netflix premiere of WWE RAW, John Cena commenced his retirement tour and made a significant announcement. He disclosed that the initial destination on his retirement journey would be Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, where he will take part in the Men’s Royal Rumble match.

In a recent episode of the Six Feet Under podcast featuring Mark Calaway, The Undertaker offered his viewpoint on John Cena’s retirement tour. He likened it to the farewell tours common in the NBA, during which legendary players make stops in various cities.
The Deadman expressed appreciation for Cena’s achievements in WWE. He commended him by stating, “Cena was a tireless performer, a massive star for many years, and I think it’s really impressive how they have structured this. Essentially, there are specific dates he will attend, as well as certain premium live events, which will provide an opportunity for fans to honor him, acknowledge his accomplishments, and bid him farewell. It’s a thoughtful way of organizing things.
Starting next week, John Cena’s farewell tour in the WWE will kick off at the Royal Rumble 2025. It will be intriguing to watch if Cena can create history during this tour by claiming a third victory in the Royal Rumble event.
