What does the red circle around weapons mean in Hades 2?

Notice a red circle around a weapon at the Silver Pool? That’s a helpful feature in Hades 2 that can actually earn you more of the game’s currency! Here’s an explanation of what it does.

What does the red circle around a weapon mean?

If a weapon has a red circle around it, it has ‘Grave Thirst,’ which means using it will reward you with extra Bones. This is a fantastic way to quickly collect Bones, especially when you’re first starting the game. After each failed run, switch to a weapon with Grave Thirst – even if you don’t succeed, you’ll still earn more Bones to improve things in the hub area.

Using a variety of weapons also lets you unlock Aspects by defeating Hecate with each one. Aspects are the key to upgrading your weapons in Hades 2.

If you’re planning to spend your Bones, head to the Wretched Broker. This ghostly shopkeeper trades them for useful items, including Nectar. If you’re unsure who to give the Nectar to, check out our guide for help deciding where to use it.

Now that you know why weapons have red circles around them, you can focus on the bigger challenges: beating Chronos and making your way to the surface. Check out our Hades 2 page for more tips on defeating enemies and improving your equipment.
