Previously, in an interview with ABC News, Benet had refuted allegations that he was a “sex addict.” However, he acknowledged his infidelity. He clarified that he is not a sex addict but rather a person who, due to a sequence of emotional incidents, struggles, and challenges, made incredibly foolish, painful mistakes.

The romance between Berry and Benet can be traced back to around 1999, marking the start of their relationship. They officially became a couple in January 2001, after nearly two years together.
