During a ceremony honoring the Philadelphia Eagles for winning Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs on April 28, 2025, it seemed like Donald Trump made a subtle reference to Taylor Swift. Interestingly, Taylor attended the game to cheer for her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
As a devoted fan, I had the incredible opportunity to witness the game in person – right alongside Taylor Swift! Can you believe it? The thrill of being there was indescribable. But Trump jokingly commented on this surprising turn of events.
In the course of the game, Trump shared a video depicting Swift being jeered by some spectators on Truth Social. Accompanying the clip was the caption, “Trump receives thunderous applause at the Super Bowl while Taylor Swift is booed – The world is recovering.” (As reported by The Independent)
Despite Donald Trump departing ahead of schedule, he was the initial sitting president to personally attend a Super Bowl. His digital activities and statements seem to be an attempt to reignite old conflicts with Taylor Swift, dating back to her political endorsements.
Over time, the bond between President Trump and Taylor Swift has become more frosty. In the 2024 presidential election, Swift chose to back Democratic nominee Kamala Harris following their initial debate. This move prompted a reaction from Trump, who commented on her political affiliations. However, prior to this, Trump was inclined towards supporting the Kansas City Chiefs.
