As a lifestyle expert with over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry, I have seen many instances where celebrities’ actions or words have sparked controversy. However, the current situation surrounding Allu Arjun and his use of the term “Army” is particularly interesting to me.
In just a few days, Pushpa 2: The Rule will grace the movie screens. Meanwhile, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna are immersed in their film promotions. However, a concerning incident has surfaced – as reported by Mid-day, a complaint has been lodged against the leading actor for allegedly misusing the term “Army” during a recent speech at an event.
A person named Srinivas Goud, who serves as the President of the Green Peace Environment and Water Harvesting Foundation, has lodged a grievance at the Jawahar Nagar Police Station in Hyderabad against Allu Arjun. According to news outlets, this complaint alleges that establishing a fan club in the name of the honorable army is extremely offensive.
For those uninitiated, the debate started during a Pushpa 2 press conference in Mumbai, where Allu Arjun spoke about his admirers. He pointed out that he doesn’t view them as fans but more like an “army.” The actor openly expressed his affection for them and referred to them as his family.
In simpler terms, Allu Arjun expressed gratitude for their unwavering support and appreciation. He also mentioned that they have his back, much like a strong army. Furthermore, he vowed to make them proud and promised that if the movie turns out to be a massive hit, it would be dedicated to them.
He expressed, “I don’t possess followers; I have a military force. My fans are more like kin to me. They stand by my side, they celebrate me. Just as an army supports its leader, so do they. I appreciate every single one of you. I will make sure to make all of you proud.” (Quoted by the publication)
In my professional opinion, expressing concern over the usage of a particular term due to its perceived disrespectfulness is entirely valid. This specific term holds deep significance for many, as it’s closely linked to our military personnel who selflessly serve our nation.
Next week, on December 5, Pushpa 2 will hit cinemas. The movie is directed by Sukumar, with a main cast featuring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Tarak Ponnappa and others in significant roles.
