As a longtime wrestling fan and someone who has followed Bret “The Hitman” Hart’s career since the late 80s, I must say that WWE RAW’s recent events between Gunther and Hart have been nothing short of captivating. Growing up in Canada, Bret Hart was more than just a wrestler; he was an icon, a symbol of national pride.
In the recent episode of WWE RAW, the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther, squared off against wrestling legend Bret Hart. This event took place in Calgary, Alberta, Canada – Bret’s home country. Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett invited Bret Hart into the ring during the show.
Following Tessitore’s announcement that he was coming back, the crowd gave him an enormous welcome. Wade Barrett questioned Hart about his emotions regarding being back in Calgary, to which he responded with great pride for being a champion, particularly as a Canadian. However, this moment was cut short when the current World Heavyweight Champion Gunther stepped into the ring and confronted Hart, showing disrespect and mocking the two-time Hall of Famer.
Subsequently, Sami Zayn made his way into the ring, issuing a challenge to Gunther for a World Heavyweight Championship bout. The altercation intensified when Hart labeled Gunther a coward, leading to a physical fight. It appears that Gunther’s ridicule of Hart isn’t done yet, as he has sent another message post-WWE RAW.

Gunther mocked WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart again
On the latest episode of WWE RAW, I, as a passionate fan, had the privilege of witnessing a special moment for Bret “The Hitman” Hart. With a heart brimming with admiration, I prepared to share some profound words with one of my childhood heroes. But then, something unexpected happened. I proclaimed that while Bret Hart holds a special place, there’s always been another wrestler who has held the top spot in my book – the legendary Bill Goldberg.
The crowd showed an extremely surprised response when Goldberg was brought up, as Goldberg and Hart have a long-standing history. On numerous occasions, Bret Hart has expressed that Goldberg ended his wrestling career with a kick which caused a serious injury, and to this day, Hart has not been able to forgive Goldberg for what transpired.
Gunther publicly declared Goldberg as his preferred wrestler, subtly implying a deep-seated animosity between Goldberg and Hart, who has lingering resentment towards the former. After the WWE RAW event, the Ring General reinforced this sentiment by posting a video from the show where he openly expresses his admiration for Goldberg.

It seems like The Ring General is trying to jog Bret Hart’s memory about the post-show conversation where he labeled him a coward for not challenging Sami Zayn for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
