We've got exciting news about Jennifer Esposito appearing in Blue Bloods season 14B

As a long-time fan of Blue Bloods, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and sadness as we approach the final episodes of this beloved series. The confirmation that Stacy Keach, Dylan Walsh, and even more intriguingly, Jennifer Esposito will be returning has me buzzing with anticipation.

With Blue Bloods approaching its final episodes, viewers are left guessing whether familiar characters will make an appearance. One original cast member has confirmed they’ll return for this farewell season!

With the second half of Season 14 of Blue Bloods about to unfold, viewers are gearing up to bid farewell. Despite their hopes for more episodes, CBS seems set on bringing the series to an end. However, there’s a silver lining: some beloved characters from the past might make a comeback.

It’s been confirmed that Stacy Keach will reprise his role as Archbishop Kearns, Dylan Walsh will return as Mayor Chase, and Will Hochman will be back as Joe Hill. Excitingly, we may see a reunion of Joe Hill with Nikki (Sami Gayle) and Jack (Tony Terraciano). However, it remains to be seen if Jennifer Esposito will return as Jackie Curatola.

Back in 2010, I found myself teaming up with Jackie, a tenacious cop, in the series Blue Bloods. She was my perfect match, always ready to take on challenges head-on. We tackled numerous cases together, with her often finding herself in precarious situations. But, as the saying goes, every cloud has a silver lining. Despite the odds, Jackie and I managed to pull through each time, solving case after case.

Initially, Jackie was a partner for Danny during the first few seasons. But unexpectedly around Season 3’s midpoint, Jackie disappeared from the scene. Temporary replacements were brought in until Danny and Baez (Maria Ramirez) formed their partnership. Since then, Baez has been a regular cast member and Danny’s partner. It was revealed that Jackie left due to excessive stress.

In reality, Esposito had needed time off for treatment for celiac disease. The actress claimed that rather than supporting her, CBS fired her and spent several years bad-mouthing the network and producers, even if she spoke warmly of Wahlberg.

At last, Jackie returned to the show in the Season 13 finale. Needing help with a serial killer case, Danny found Jackie, now the chief of police in a small New Jersey town. She spoke of being in a much better place, both in location and her mental health. She aided Danny and Maria on the case and it was great to see the partners back together.

So, could Jackie be part of the farewell tour for Blue Bloods?

Is Jackie returning to Blue Bloods?

According to Kevin Wade, the showrunner of TVLine’s Season 14B, Esposito will appear in the last eight episodes. Yet, his role doesn’t involve the main series finale.

Previously, Jackie helped out in Season 14 by assisting in the hunt for the serial killer who had previously targeted her. There’s a good chance she and Danny will collaborate again on another case. It would be exciting for Danny to work with Jackie in her territory, where she’s the boss, and potentially even attend a Reagan family dinner.

It would’ve been delightful if Jackie appeared in the last episode, but it’s still great to have her back on the show. Considering her significant role in the initial seasons, her comeback seems fitting to provide a satisfying resolution for her character.

Although specifics about her final appearance haven’t been disclosed yet, fans of Blue Bloods can rest easy knowing that another well-known character will say goodbye to the series before it ends.

Blue Bloods Season 14B premieres Friday, October 18 at 10/9c on CBS.
