Werwulf Cast: 2 Nosferatu Actors Reunite in New Robert Eggers Movie

According to a fresh report, it appears that the cast of Robert Eggers‘ “Werwolf” project includes two actors who have previously collaborated with him.

Who has joined the Werwulf cast?

Based on a recent report from Nexus Point News, it appears that Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Lily-Rose Depp will team up once more with director Robert Eggers in an upcoming werewolf movie. These two actors have recently collaborated with Eggers on his latest production, “Nosferatu” which is set to release in 2024.

At present, it’s uncertain what part these individuals will play, or if their involvement has been definitively confirmed. As for Werful’s full cast, it remains undisclosed at this time. However, during the press tour for Nosferatu, Eggers did hint that he had invited Willem Dafoe to appear in two of his upcoming films.

In September, Werwulf is set to start filming at Elstree, England. This indicates that the casting process for the movie has probably started, so we can expect some updates on it fairly soon.

As stated during a Q&A session at the Lincoln Center, the director personally revealed that his upcoming film “Werwulf” will be his darkest work yet. This movie is set to hit theaters on Christmas Day, 2026.

The specifics of the project are yet to be disclosed, but it is known that it will be set in 13th-century England, with dialogue and settings authentic to the era, similar to Eggers’ previous works. Contrary to initial speculations, the film will not be in black and white, as reported by THR.

Before the official announcement of Werwulf, whispers circulated that Eggers was set to helm a new Labyrinth film. In fact, Eggers himself has expressed his enthusiasm for directing The Knight, a medieval flick currently in focus, as well as harboring dreams of creating a Western movie someday. Additionally, there have been murmurs about him working on a miniseries centered around Grigori Rasputin, the enigmatic Russian mystic and faith healer.
