Wendy Williams to End Guardianship & Get Medical Test — Report

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news: Wendy Williams herself has reportedly signed an affidavit to terminate her three-year long guardianship. According to recent reports, this decision precedes a planned medical evaluation. This latest development follows the release of a new documentary titled “Saving Wendy,” produced by TMZ and Tubi, which delved into Williams’ guardianship struggles.

Reports claim Wendy Williams set to end guardianship

Wendy Williams recently signed an affidavit to end her guardianship as per a new report from TMZ.

According to reports, Williams states in her affidavit that she’s once again capable of managing her life independently, without requiring a guardian. Additionally, she asserts that she do not suffer from Frontotemporal Dementia, a condition that doctors had earlier diagnosed her with in early 2024, along with aphasia.

Furthermore, it’s been reported that Wendy Williams is scheduled for a medical examination on the coming Tuesday. This examination will be performed by a physician selected by the attorney she recently retained to finalize her longstanding guardianship.

The article adds that if the judge rejects Williams’ petition to terminate her guardianship, she and her lawyer have a contingency plan: they will request a jury trial. In this trial, jurors would decide if Williams can manage her life independently without needing a guardian.

Last month, Williams and her niece, Alex Finnie, appeared on The Breakfast Club. During this interview, they discussed Williams’ guardianship. In this conversation, she compared her guardianship situation to being in prison and strongly asserted that she is not cognitively impaired.

The documentary titled “Saving Wendy” offered additional insights into the situation surrounding Williams’ guardianship, with the ex-talk show host disclosing significant facts. Among these were restrictions such as being kept in her room at all times, lacking access to an iPad or personal mobile device, and Sabrina Morrissey having the legal right to profit from her. Furthermore, she alleged that her son played a role in her guardianship and crossed boundaries beyond what was acceptable.
