On Wednesday, actor Isaac Ordonez offers a sneak peek into the anticipated second season of Netflix’s humorous supernatural show, hinting at the character development of Pugsley Addams.
2022 saw Wednesday climb to Netflix’s most-watched series, maintaining its position among the Global Top 10 for several weeks. The first season brought back the quirky Addams Family, with fresh actors embodying their roles – Jenna Ortega playing Wednesday and Ordonez portraying her younger brother, Pugsley.
In contrast, Netflix’s Pugsley was perceived as a delicate figure with limited screen time throughout the show. Yet, this is set to alter significantly in the upcoming second season.
What did Isaac Ordonez say about his character Pugsley in Wednesday Season 2?
In an interview with ScreenRant, it was disclosed that this coming season will feature a greater focus on the character of Pugsley, offering viewers a deeper understanding of him. This increased exposure will reveal Pugsley in a more multidimensional manner, as Wednesday develops a newfound appreciation for her brother due to his emerging powers. However, consistent with Wednesday’s usual behavior, she plans to exploit Pugsley’s abilities for her own gain.
Ordonez shared, “In this new season, there’s a lot more variety in showcasing different aspects of his character. While the first season displayed his emotional side, this season reveals his humorous, cunning, and mischievous traits. Yet, we continue to explore his emotional depth as well. As he arrives at Nevermore, he feels quite lonely and struggles to make friends, which adds another layer to his character.
Ordonez commented, “I believe that since he’s gained powers, Wednesday has developed a bit more respect for him. Yet, she also views him as a means to further her investigations. As far as their relationship as siblings goes, I’d say they’re just like any other siblings – a little awkward. That part hasn’t changed, because Wednesday doesn’t change [laughs].
Excitedly speaking about the upcoming season, I can’t wait for Wednesday Season 2 to unfold! Just like me, the rest of the Addams family will be making a comeback, including the captivating Catherine Zeta-Jones portraying Morticia Addams and the charismatic Luis Guzmán bringing Gomez Addams to life.
Joining them are familiar faces such as Emma Myers, who plays my roommate Enid Sinclair, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin (revealed last season to be the Hyde), Moosa Mostafa as Eugene Ottinger, Georgie Farmer as Ajax, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Ritchie.
Notably, Sheriff Donovan Galpin, portrayed by Jamie McShane, and Uncle Fester, played by Fred Armisen, will also be making guest appearances. It’s going to be a spooktacular season!
