Weapons Trailer: Fantastic Four’s Julia Garner Is Haunted by Missing Students

Warner Bros. has now released the official teaser trailer for the upcoming supernatural horror thriller from Barbarian director Zach Cregger, produced by New Line Cinema. This spine-chilling film is set to hit theaters on August 8, 2025.

In the movie, when all but one student from the same class disappear simultaneously during the same night, the town begins to ponder who or what could be responsible for these mysterious disappearances.

What happens in the Weapons trailer?

The video starts off with a chilling narration of seventeen children vanishing from their homes during the night, all belonging to one class. It presents Julia Garner, an Emmy winner, as their homeroom teacher, who is immediately confronted with queries and accusations by worried parents suspecting her involvement in the students’ disappearances. The trailer emphasizes the peculiar events that Garner’s character encounters, as she becomes tormented by the ghostly presence of her missing pupils.

The movie “Weapons” is helmed by director and producer Cregger. Alongside Garner, the cast includes Josh Brolin, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan. The production team consists of Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, J.D. Lifshitz, and Raphael Margules, with Michelle Morrissey and Josh Brolin serving as executive producers.

Initially, this project was introduced as a connected, multi-story horror saga, with a tone reminiscent of Paul Thomas Anderson’s 1999 movie “Magnolia.” The film crew working behind the scenes includes cinematographer Larkin Seiple, production designer Tom Hammock, editor Joe Murphy, and costume designer Trish Sommerville. The music will be composed by Ryan Holladay, Hays Holladay, and Cregger.
