The first teaser trailer for Weapons has been released.
A fresh horror flick titled “Weapons” is set to hit U.S. theaters in August. This movie, penned and helmed by Zach Cregger, boasts an impressive cast including Josh Brolin and Julia Garner.

What happens in the Weapons teaser trailer?
The trailer for the movie “Weapons” establishes a chilling atmosphere in the peaceful town of Maybrook. When 17 kids inexplicably vanish from their homes during the night, the townsfolk scramble to uncover the truth as they grapple with the baffling events that transpired.
Besides Brolin and Garner, the ensemble of Weapons also features Alden Ehrenreich, Benedict Wong, Amy Madigan, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, June Diane Raphael, Toby Huss, along with other talented actors.
Back in 2009 and 2011, I teamed up with Trevor Moore to co-direct Miss March and The Civil War on Drugs respectively. Fast forward to 2022, I stepped into the director’s chair alone for the first time with Barbarian, a movie featuring Georgina Campbell, Bill Skarsgård, and Justin Long. More recently, I’ve taken on the role of producer for the 2025 release, Companion.
It’s still unclear if Weapons and Barbarian share a connection, but Warner Bros.’ recent promotional website for Weapons hints that Cregger’s upcoming film could be set within the same universe as Barbarian. As of now, additional details or potential links between the two are kept secret.
Previously, Brolin expressed his thoughts on the film “Weapons,” through Collider, stating, “The script is exceptionally good. He’s assembled an outstanding cast. There are many talented individuals involved. This was one of those rare instances where I thought, ‘Alright, let’s proceed.’ I genuinely believe that this project boasts a truly brilliant screenplay.
The movie “Barbarian” is now available for streaming, while the film titled “Weapons” will hit U.S. theaters on August 8, 2025, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
