‘We request Mr Arshad Warsi be advised to…’: MAA President Vishnu Manchu urges CINETAA to address Munnabhai MBBS actor’s controversial remarks on Prabhas

As a veteran in the Indian film industry with decades of experience under my belt, I find it disheartening to witness such careless and disrespectful remarks made by established actors like Arshad Warsi towards our beloved Prabhas and the Telugu film community.

Vishnu Manchu, head of the Movie Artistes Association (MAA), publicly expressed his worries over remarks made by Bollywood star Arshad Warsi concerning the movie “Kalki 2898 AD” and its main actor, Prabhas.

In a letter to Poonam Dhillon, President of Cine & TV Artists Association (CINETAA) in Mumbai, Manchu conveyed his displeasure about Warsi’s statements, which he perceived as disrespectful and harmful to the feelings of the Telugu film fraternity.

In a letter penned to Poonam Dhillon, the President of the Cine & TV Artists Association (CINETAA) based in Mumbai, Vishnu Manchu conveyed the shared dismay within the Telugu film community over Warsi’s dismissive remarks. While recognizing each person’s freedom to voice their opinions, he underscored the need for public figures to exercise caution in their expressions given the speed at which social media can magnify statements.

In a heartfelt missive, I penned, “Words hold immense power, they can either mend relationships or sow discord.” I went on to emphasize that Sadat’s words, unintentionally or not, have unfortunately stirred unwarranted negativity among cinephiles and within the cinematic realm itself.

Manchu recommended CINETAA to suggest Arshad Warsi to avoid making such comments about his fellow actors in the future. He emphasized the significance of upholding dignity and respect towards colleagues, regardless of their regional backgrounds, and reminded everyone that the movie industry is essentially a big family bonded by a common love for cinema.

These remarks sparked controversy among fans and peers within the industry who perceived them as disrespectful towards Prabhas and the Telugu film industry.
