'We have dedicated ourselves to audience as Gods': When Allu Arjun weighed in on nepotism debate - THROWBACK

As a devoted follower of Allu Arjun’s career, I must say that his journey in the world of South Indian cinema is nothing short of inspiring. Born into a family of stardom, he could have easily coasted along on their reputation, but instead, he chose to carve out his own path.

Allu Arjun hails from a well-known acting and producing lineage. His father, Allu Aravind, is recognized as one of the influential producers in South Indian film industry, while his uncle, Chiranjeevi, is a revered actor in the same field. During the celebration of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s success in 2020, he was questioned about the ongoing discussion on nepotism in the industry.

As a loyal admirer, I echo Allu Arjun’s thoughts on nepotism. When people claim that a film family is monopolizing cinema and stifling external talent, they often use the term ‘nepotism’. Just like a priest who dedicates his life to God in a temple, his son follows suit, and so does his grandson. In the same vein, we (the Mega family) have also devoted ourselves to serving as gods of cinema.

As a connoisseur of lifestyle and entertainment, I’d rephrase it this way: When it comes to devoting myself to bringing joy to my audience, if people label that nepotism, then so be it. At the triumphant gathering of my film, I declared my unwavering commitment to continue entertaining the Telugu community indefinitely.

Initially in his career, Allu Arjun faced challenges in the Telugu film industry. At a gathering in Hyderabad, the actor shared these hardships, disclosing that following his debut film “Gangotri,” he found himself without movie offers coming his way.

He expressed that others didn’t seem to appreciate his appearance much, leading him to question his success as an artist. However, at a screening of Dil starring Nithiin, Allu Arjun had the opportunity to encounter Sukumar.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share my thrill when the filmmaker took notice of Allu Arjun’s talent and invited him to collaborate on the movie “Arya.” The result was nothing short of spectacular – “Arya” became a box office sensation, catapulting Allu Arjun into the limelight as an up-and-coming star in Tinseltown.

Currently, actor Allu Arjun is preparing for the premiere of his eagerly anticipated movie titled Pushpa 2: The Rule, which will be shared with Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna. This Sukumar-directed production will be making its way to cinemas on December 6.
