WB Games Fighter Multiversus Shuts Down After Season 5

WB Games along with Player First Games have declared that Season 5 of “Multiversus,” set to commence on February 4, marks the final season. Upon the conclusion of this season, online functionalities for the game will cease to exist.

WB Games’ Multiversus goes offline at the end of May

According to an update from WB Games for Multiversus, they’ve announced that Season 5 ends on May 30 at 9 A.M. Pacific Standard Time. After this date, online gameplay features will no longer be accessible to players. Furthermore, the game itself will no longer be available for purchase or download on platforms like the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store.

The firm verifies that Multiversus can be played offline using the local multiplayer option, where you can challenge AI opponents or engage up to three friends. So long as users download or update the most recent game version, and generate a local save file on their chosen platform, the game can be enjoyed offline, including all unlocked and purchased items.

Starting today, a significant change has been implemented in Multiversus: Real money transactions are no longer possible within the game. Consequently, those hoping to acquire Gleamium before the shutdown might miss their chance. However, players who already possess Gleamium can still utilize it until Season 5 concludes.

Firstly, we’d like to express our deepest gratitude to every player and supporter of MultiVersus. The teams at Player First Games and Warner Bros. Games have poured their passion and dedication into creating this game. We are eternally thankful for the unwavering support of the MultiVersus community during our development process.

Initially released for early access in 2022, Multiversus went into beta mode the following year, resulting in its temporary removal from online service. A year later, the final version of the game was made available, featuring 26 playable characters. Currently, there are 33 characters to choose from, with the introduction of Aquaman and Lola Bunny in Season 5 bringing the total roster up to 35.
