As a devoted fan of Mohanlal, I find myself deeply saddened and appalled by the recent incident involving Chekuthan, also known as Aju Alex. It is disheartening to see someone who has the audacity to speak ill of such an esteemed figure, especially during a time when our beloved superstar was selflessly serving his community in the aftermath of a tragic landslide.
A Malayali YouTube personality named Aju Alex, who goes by the online alias “Chekuthan,” has reportedly been taken into custody by police due to some controversial statements he made. According to Asianet News, these comments were disrespectful towards actor Mohanlal regarding his recent visit to areas in Wayanad affected by landslides.
According to the report, the YouTube comments were directed at the celebrity who visited the location while wearing his military uniform. This individual is an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army, and at the time of the incident, his battalion was engaged in rescue operations for the affected people.
The 42-year-old YouTuber was accused by the actor and head of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), Siddique. According to a report in Kerala Kaumudi, the production controller, Badusha stated that the Kalamassery police have taken into custody an individual who believed they could mistreat people on social media.
Additionally, he also mentioned that this particular YouTuber often employs offensive language directed at Mohanlal and harbors negative feelings towards him. Similarly, Santhosh Varkey, better known as “Aarattu Annan” on social media, was taken into police custody after Bala, the actor, filed a complaint against him.
A person, previously mentioned, was apprehended due to offensive remarks about actors and their relatives made during online film reviews, which were considered inappropriate. Later, they were freed following a granting of bail.
Mohanlal, who recently visited a region hit by landslides, returned to the site wearing military attire with the intention of assisting those in need. After assessing the situation and the conditions of the affected people, he also announced that his foundation would contribute Rs 3 crores towards the rehabilitation efforts.

Regarding his professional endeavors, Mohanlal is preparing for the launch of his upcoming movie titled “Baaroz.” This production, set to premiere on September 12, 2024, during the Onam festival, signifies Mohanlal’s first attempt at directing. In this magical tale, he portrays a character responsible for safeguarding treasures.
Beyond this, I’m personally gearing up for the release of the eagerly anticipated sequel film, L2: Empuraan, helmed by the brilliant Prithviraj Sukumaran. Notably, I will also make an appearance in Tharun Moorthy’s upcoming project, provisionally titled L360.
