As a longtime connoisseur of Tamil cinema, I must say that the gracious gesture demonstrated by Suriya in postponing Kanguva to give way to Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan is truly commendable. It’s not every day we witness such humility and respect for a senior artist in the industry, especially when both films are anticipated blockbusters.
One of this year’s most eagerly awaited films, “Kanguva” featuring Suriya as the lead actor, was initially set to hit theaters on October 10, coinciding with Dussehra festival. However, speculations arose that the release date might be shifted to avoid a confrontation with Rajinikanth‘s film, “Vettaiyan.” Recently, during the audio launch event of “Meiyazhagan” starring Karthi in Coimbatore, it was confirmed by the actor himself that his film has indeed been postponed.
In response to the news, he stated, “Indeed, Rajinikanth is synonymous with Tamil cinema. Releasing ‘Kanguva’ alongside ‘Vettaiyan’ might not be the best decision. ‘Kanguva’ is almost like a newcomer, so I kindly ask everyone to offer their prayers for the film. A great deal of hard work has been put into it.” Suriya then asked his followers to back him and stay by his side during the release of ‘Kanguva’.

During the gathering, Suriya applauded the Kanguva team for their unwavering dedication and laborious efforts in producing this film. He emphasized that, over the past several years, more than a thousand people – both cast members and others – have poured their hearts into Kanguva. Under trying circumstances, everyone has given their all to craft something extraordinary for Tamil cinema.
1) “Suriya stated that he’s confident that the diligent efforts of his crew won’t go unrecognized. Moreover, he respectfully noted that Rajinikanth, being a veteran in the Indian cinema, deserves to have his movie premiere before theirs.”
I eagerly anticipate the release of ‘Vettaiyan’ on October 10th. As a devoted admirer, I believe it’s only fitting to make way for this film out of reverence. He is a senior figure in my industry, and he began his career acting when I was still a newcomer. For over half a century, he has been an icon of Tamil cinema. Therefore, I strongly feel that it’s best for the Superstar’s movie to take precedence first.
In the meantime, a historical drama titled “Kanguva” is set to star Suriya, Bobby Deol, and others. Notably, Disha Patani has been cast in a significant role. Directed by Siva, the film promises intricate fight sequences where Suriya and Bobby will engage in fierce confrontations.
Conversely, the movie titled “Vettaiyan,” starring Rajinikanth, is set to premiere on the silver screen on October 10th. Notably, this film will also showcase Amitabh Bachchan and Fahadh Faasil in significant roles.
