As a lifestyle expert with a deep appreciation for cinema and the art of storytelling, I find myself thoroughly intrigued by the upcoming project, Coolie, featuring none other than the legendary Superstar Rajinikanth. With my decades-long experience in the film industry, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the evolution of Tamil cinema and have always admired the unique charisma that Rajini Sir brings to every role he plays.
As a die-hard fan, I can hardly contain my excitement! Just recently, none other than the legendary Rajinikanth touched down in Vizag to kick off filming for Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie. The moment his plane landed, the Jailer actor was swarmed by fans who had been anxiously awaiting his arrival at the airport.
According to news sources, the actor is set to film Coolie for about 40 days in Vizag. Significant parts of the movie will be filmed within and around the city. At present, Rajinikanth has committed nearly 160 days to the upcoming stages of this production.

For those unfamiliar, the upcoming movie marks the collaboration between superstar Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagaraj for the first time. Anticipated to have a nationwide premiere, the film is planning for a theatrical release in the second half of 2025.
From a quick look at the project, it appears that the storyline takes place within the criminal underworld of gold smugglers.
In this upcoming movie, it’s rumored that Thalaivar will portray a challenging role, seemingly connected to the unlawful dealing of gold. This film promises an exciting amalgamation of action and a compelling storyline, much like Lokesh Kanagaraj’s other productions.
Beyond Rajinikanth, the movie will also star Shruti Haasan in a significant role. Actor Sathyaraj is also teaming up with Thalaivar again for Coolie, since they last worked together on a film in 1986. Notable actors involved in this project include Mahendran, Upendra, and more.
Nevertheless, whispers spread about a potential rift between Rajinikanth and Sathyaraj amidst the Cauvery water controversy. Some speculated that they experienced some strife due to a speech delivered by Sathyaraj during his role in the Baahubali series.
Despite this, during the promotion of his movie Maayon, Sibiraj, Sathyaraj’s son, expressed that both actors hold reciprocal respect for each other. Interestingly, Sathyaraj admitted that he declined parts in Rajinikanth’s films like Sivaji and Endhiran not because of disagreements, but due to unhappiness with the roles presented to him.
