WATCH: Nayanthara makes FIRST appearance at Mookuthi Amman 2 launch after rejecting ‘Lady Superstar’ title

The long-awaited sequel to Nayanthara’s movie, Mookuthi Amman 2, helmed by director Sundar C, has officially started filming. A launch event took place on March 6, commencing with a traditional prayer ceremony. Recently shared behind-the-scenes footage captures the actress actively participating alongside her co-stars and crew.

In the video, Nayanthara elegantly donned a crimson saree and adorned herself lavishly while seeking blessings from the goddess Durga. The actress exuded an air of royalty, bedecked with exquisite jewelry.

For those unfamiliar, this is the return of Nayanthara following a period of absence, notably since she declared in a public letter that she no longer wished to be referred to as ‘Lady Superstar’.

On March 5th, the celebrated figure requested her supporters to cease using a particular term they’d fondly bestowed upon her. Instead, she asked them to address her by her personal name directly.

A part of her message stated, “You’ve kindly given me the nickname ‘Lady Superstar’, a title that comes from your deep affection. I am truly grateful for bestowing such a precious title upon me. Nevertheless, I would be most grateful if you could address me as ‘Nayanthara.’ This is because this name holds a special place in my heart.

Discussing the upcoming movie of Jawan actress, titled Mookuthi Amman 2, it will be a follow-up to her 2020 film, also known as Mookuthi Amman. In the original film, directed by RJ Balaji, she portrayed the leading character of a deity.

Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that Nayanthara is working on another highly anticipated film titled “Test,” which features R Madhavan and Siddharth as the main characters. Following this, she has several more movies lined up: “Mannangatti Since 1920,” “Dear Students,” and “Rakkayi.

Furthermore, the actress will significantly contribute to both the movie “Toxic,” where Yash is the lead, and the film “MMMN” alongside Mohanlal and Mammootty in their respective roles.
