Watch: Karthi recreates his brother Suriya’s dance number Kanimaa from Retro; don’t miss his swag moves

Actor Karthi is making news again, not due to a movie release, but because of a video circulating online. Lately, Karthi, Suriya’s brother, has attracted attention at an event he attended. The star of Kaithi, Karthi, was spotted dancing enthusiastically to his brother’s song Kanimaa from the upcoming film Retro.

In a lively display, the actor was spotted enjoying immensely while gracefully moving to the rhythmic tune composed by Karthik Subbaraj. Wearing sunglasses, the actor Meiyazhagan attempted to mimic Suriya’s dance moves in the song, showcasing his coolest demeanor.

For those not familiar, the song “Kanimaa” showcases actors Suriya and Pooja Hegde. This tune is sung by Santhosh Narayanan, who also composed the movie’s music. In the music video, you’ll see these two stars donning traditional outfits while dancing enthusiastically.

In simple terms, “Retro” will be Suriya’s 44th movie and is set to premiere on May 1, 2025. Since its announcement, there’s been a great deal of excitement surrounding it, with many expecting it to be successful.

Additionally, the distinctive new style of Suriya in the movie has drawn notice as well. In this production, he sports longer hair and adopts a vintage appearance, a style he hasn’t attempted previously.

Following the disappointing performance of his last movie, Kanguva, there’s a lot of anticipation surrounding the actor as he works on his upcoming project. Although the action film hasn’t hit theaters yet, the catchy tunes and sneak peeks have already sparked quite a buzz.

Apart from Retro, it’s worth noting that actor Suriya has another upcoming project on the horizon. Provisionally named “Suriya 45”, this film is helmed by director RJ Balaji and features Trisha Krishnan as the female lead.
