As a die-hard Thalapathy Vijay fan, I must admit that The GOAT has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions and unparalleled excitement! With its impressive box office collections, it’s no wonder this film is being hailed as the greatest ever made.
In theaters on September 5th, the highly acclaimed movie “The Greatest of All Time” starring Thalapathy Vijay as the leading man has been breaking box office records. With an impressive gross collection exceeding Rs 100 crores, it’s no surprise that this film is a massive success. Interestingly, it was originally planned for Nayanthara to star alongside Vijay in “The GOAT,” rather than Sneha.
In a recent conversation, film director Venkat Prabhu disclosed that actress Sneha was not his initial pick for the role of Thalapathy Vijay’s wife in “The GOAT.” He mentioned that Nayanthara was originally considered for the part, but various factors prevented it from coming together.
Originally, I intended to hire Nayanthara, but unfortunately, it didn’t pan out for some unspecified reason. Interestingly, Nayan reached out to me after seeing the film and commended my choice to go with Sneha instead. She even complimented Sneha’s acting abilities, stating that no one else could have pulled off that role as well as she did.
As reported by Sacnilk, the movie “The GOAT” starring Thalapathy Vijay is nearing the impressive milestone of 200 crores in India. In just its first week, it has already earned approximately 170.75 crores in India. The film has been receiving positive responses and is doing well among Tamil-speaking audiences.
Speaking in an interview, Venkat Prabhu explained that the ending of his movie, which ties into the popular cricket team CSK, was not well-received by audiences outside of Tamil Nadu. He noted that the references to CSK may have been confusing or unappealing to Hindi and Telugu viewers, as they are fans of rival teams MI and RCB. Being a diehard CSK fan himself, he acknowledged that this allegiance is something he can’t change.
Apart from discussing the theatrical release of the movie, he additionally disclosed his intentions for the online streaming debut of the film. Specifically, he aims to make available an extended, unedited version of The GOAT on OTT (Over-The-Top) services. Notably, this film currently runs for 3 hours and 40 minutes. Simultaneously, a sequel called GOAT vs. OG is in the works, where the narrative will center around the antagonist instead of the protagonist.
