In 2018, the doors of Dallas-based studio Kite Studios were first opened. This innovative team boasts experienced professionals from Irrational Games and Gearbox Software among others, and they are now eager to present their inaugural original game, Wartorn. A captivating fantasy tactics game, Wartorn’s compelling narrative has been skillfully developed by the same creative minds behind BioShock, Borderlands, and Age of Empires. The anticipated release date for this exciting title is 2025 on PC systems.
This week, I’m thrilled to share that Stray Kite Studios unveiled their new game, Wartorn, on their YouTube channel! I can’t wait to add it to my wishlist on Steam. In this magical fantasy adventure, I’ll be teaming up with two elven sisters, helping them navigate their journey and battle to reconnect with their loved ones. The game promises an engaging blend of roguelite elements, intricate tactical combat, and a unique mechanic to pause the action for strategic decision-making against various distinctive units. Can’t wait to dive in!
This week, Paul Hellquist, both Creative Director and co-founder of Stray Kite, unveiled Wartorn for the first time. His team is gearing up to release it on personal computers later this year.
Paul Hellquist served as the principal designer for the initial Bioshock game and also directed Borderlands 2. He is accompanied by a team of experienced professionals from the gaming industry, among them being the co-founder and CEO of the studio, Shovaen Patel.
