Warner Bros’ Wonder Woman game has reportedly been rebooted & switched directors

Approximately 3 years have passed since WB Games and Monolith Productions revealed their plans for a Wonder Woman video game. Since then, there hasn’t been much news about it, except that it might incorporate the Nemesis System from Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Now, with WB facing some challenges in its gaming sector, it seems like the Wonder Woman game has undergone a revamp and a new director is now involved.

Information from Bloomberg reveals that Warner Bros is undergoing several internal changes following the departure of WB Games President David Haddad. Insiders claim that the Wonder Woman game has encountered numerous alterations and adjustments. It’s said that despite investing around $100 million into the game’s development, it has not met expectations among staff and executives. As a consequence, the game is changing directors and seems to be undergoing a reshoot in its production process.

In December of 2021, during Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards event, it was announced that a Wonder Woman game was in development, with plans to pay tribute to this beloved character as she celebrated her 80th anniversary since her comic book debut. Fans were excited at the prospect of Monolith Productions handling the project, and even more so when they learned that the Nemesis System, well-known from the Middle-earth games, would be incorporated into the gameplay.

It appears that we might have to wait a few more years before seeing any new developments in the Wonder Woman game, as the team is currently working on a reboot of the project.
