Hailing from Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema, we have the latest intense chapter in the blockbuster video game series – Mortal Kombat 2. This eagerly awaited sequel places viewers squarely within the epic Mortal Kombat tournament, where the fate of Earthrealm is at stake. The beloved heroes, with Johnny Cage now among them, face off against each other in a no-rules, gruesome fight to overthrow Shao Kahn’s ominous reign that endangers Earthrealm and its brave protectors.

The movie showcases an engaging cast, with both beloved characters from the past and fresh faces making their debut. Prominently appearing among them is Karl Urban portraying Johnny Cage, giving a lively rendition of the once popular, now faded Hollywood actor. Accompanying him are Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson as Kano, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, and Lewis Tan as Cole Young. The dark forces of Outworld are embodied by Damon Herriman as Quan Chi, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han (the original Sub-Zero), and Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion.

Director Simon McQuoid is once again at the helm for this action-packed sequel to his 2021 film, using a script penned by Jeremy Slater. This movie is inspired by the much-loved video game developed by Ed Boon and John Tobias. The production team includes Todd Garner, James Wan, Toby Emmerich, E. Bennett Walsh, and McQuoid himself, with Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Slater, and Lawrence Kasanoff serving as executive producers. Other key creatives include cinematographer Stephen F. Windon, production designer Yohei Taneda, editor Stuart Levy, costume designer Cappi Ireland, casting director Rich Delia, and composer Benjamin Wallfisch.
