Warframe devs don't want to fix new motorcycle bug, calling it "rad and cool"

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that Digital Extreme’s decision to keep the Atomicycle bug in Warframe is a refreshing change of pace. In the vast landscape of gaming, where bugs are often seen as blemishes to be swiftly eradicated, it’s heartening to see a developer embrace an unexpected feature with such enthusiasm.

Following the latest update for the game Warframe, which introduced motorcycles, players have encountered issues related to the vehicle’s spawn, however, the developers are unwilling to address these bugs as they find the glitches to be aesthetically pleasing.

Warframe: 1999

Following the recent free expansion release for Warframe last week, the popular free-to-play sci-fi game with magic space ninjas and mutant horrors, players found themselves transported to an alternate version of 1999, but that wasn’t all. Alongside this time travel experience, they were also introduced to new characters, weapons, and motorcycles. The motorcycles quickly became a beloved addition among fans not only for their intended uses, but for other reasons as well.

Following completion of the main storyline in the game titled “1999“, gamers discovered that the Atomicycle, a Y2K sports motorcycle equipped for bullet jumping and aim gliding, had capabilities beyond what was initially disclosed. Prior to the launch of “Warframe: 1999“, developer Digital Extremes had hinted that players would be able to summon the Atomicycle within the expansion’s Höllvania tileset once they completed the quest for “1999“.

Soon after the launch, players found out that they could summon the bike everywhere else as well.

Take this, Professor Oak!

In this revised version, a glitch enabled players to summon motorcycles in any mission environment, including those set within spaceships and orbiting installations characterized by narrow passages. As a result, the game, which already boasted a blend of parkour-inspired movements and gravity-defying trajectories, became even quicker due to the presence of heavily armed bikes whizzing through it.

Typically, when an issue such as this arises in a game, developers strive to fix it promptly so players can enjoy the game as intended. However, an unusual scenario unfolded where the motorcycles spawning everywhere received unexpected support from Digital Extreme, who seems to have taken a liking to the bug and wants to keep it around.

Through the Warframe forum, Digital Extremes shared details about the current state of affairs and their chosen course of action.

As lots of you have reported, the Atomicycle can be spawned and used in ALL missions, not just 1999 and Open Zones like we originally intended. After some internal discussion, we’ve decided to not change this. It’s rad and cool and we enjoy seeing you whip out the bike throughout the Origin System!

digital extremes explained that the malfunctioning feature, when applied to existing archwing vehicles, would be problematic due to the challenge of navigating motorcycles in a space environment without gravitational forces.

As a gamer, I can’t help but share my thoughts on Digital Extremes’ recent response. Frankly, I find their approach to be intriguing and it sparks curiosity within me about the future updates they have planned.
