Walking Dead's Lew Temple and Vincent M. Ward join Danny Trejo's undead crew in Seven Cemeteries

As a seasoned gamer and movie enthusiast with a soft spot for the undead, I must say that “Seven Cemeteries” has piqued my interest in a most intriguing manner. The blend of horror, action, and thrills, as hinted by the trailer, seems to promise an exhilarating ride – one that’s bound to get my adrenaline pumping during the Halloween season binge.

The witty slogan “Heroes aren’t born; they’re made” aptly describes the independent zombie-themed thriller “Seven Cemeteries,” starring Danny Trejo. Accompanying Trejo in this movie are Lew Temple and Vincent M. Ward, who gained recognition for their roles as part of a group of prisoners in “The Walking Dead’s third season.

As a fervent admirer, I’m thrilled to share that John Gulager, renowned for his work in the “Feast” trilogy and other films like “Piranha 3DD” and “Zombie Night,” has taken the helm for the chilling new horror movie titled “Seven Cemeteries.” This spine-tingling tale introduces a touch of supernatural elements to keep us on our toes. Gulager collaborated with Joel Soisson on the story, a veteran writer who’s penned classics like “Dracula 2000,” “Hellraiser: Hellworld,” and “Children of the Corn: Runaway.” Intriguingly, Gulager himself directed the latter film. The narrative revolves around a freshly paroled individual seeking the help of a Mexican witch to bring back their old gang in a desperate attempt to rescue a woman from a merciless drug lord.

A renowned figure named Bravo, having spent 28 years behind bars, finds himself a job on a remote ranch without any queries. However, he soon learns that this invitation was extended due to impending danger – the powerful drug lord, Abuelo, who wields influence over local law enforcement, is threatening the ranch owners. After sustaining gunshot wounds, he encounters a witch who not only mends him but also teaches him techniques for resurrecting the deceased. Employing his newly acquired skills, Bravo raises an undead force made up of his former comrades to stand against Abuelo and protect the ranch owners.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be seeing Danny Trejo embody Bravo, the fearless leader, alongside Maria Canals-Barrera as Bruja in an upcoming series. The talented Efren Ramirez takes on Miquel, Lew Temple portrays Tommy Lasorda, Vincent M. Ward steps into Eugene’s shoes, Richard Esteras becomes Quasimodo, Emma Ramos brings Dolores to life, Samantha Ashley embodies Carmela, and Sal Lopez assumes the role of the drug lord Abuelo. If you pay close attention to the trailer (linked below), you might catch another familiar face from “The Walking Dead,” Noel G.

Below is the official trailer for Seven Cemeteries, which debuts simultaneously in theaters and VOD beginning October 11. You can find the list of theaters in Ward’s Instagram post. The movie is the perfect mix of undead fun, horror, action, and thrills, ideal for the Halloween season binge.

In a post, Ward showcased a fantastic behind-the-scenes photo of the team; similarly, actress Emma Ramos uploaded a captivating video clip from set on Instagram that’s definitely worth checking out.
