As a die-hard fan of all things supernatural and horror, I am beyond thrilled to hear about the lineup for New York Comic Con 2024! The return of The Walking Dead spinoffs, Daryl Dixon and Dead City, has me on the edge of my seat. Being a long-time fan of both series, I can’t wait to see where their stories take us next.
The New York Comic Con is set to make a comeback at the Javits Center from October 17-20, 2024. Don’t miss out on this fantastic event as tickets are quickly being snapped up! AMC Networks will be showcasing some of their hit series during the convention, offering panels, exclusive screenings, and much more.
At the upcoming event, panels for spinoffs of “The Walking Dead,” focusing on characters Daryl Dixon and Dead City, will follow one after another. Additionally, Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, DanMachi from HIDIVE, and Shudder will each have their own panels at the event as well.
The Walking Dead: Dead City
On Friday, October 18th, from 6-7 PM Eastern Time, join us for the “The Walking Dead: Dead City” panel on the main stage. This spinoff series, which is the first direct continuation of the main storyline, follows Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they continue their character arcs. In season 1, they worked together to rescue her son Hershel (Logan Kim). In season 2, Negan becomes entangled in the struggle for control over Manhattan, which places him and Maggie on opposing sides of the conflict.
At this upcoming panel, we’ll get a sneak peek at season 2 of “The Walking Dead” Universe, which is set to return on AMC and AMC+ in 2025. Some of the key speakers will be Scott M. Gimple, the Chief Content Officer of “The Walking Dead” Universe, showrunner and executive producer Eli Jorné, as well as Cohan, who acts in the series, serves as an executive producer, and directs two episodes for season 2. Alongside them will be cast members Gaius Charles, playing Pearlie Armstrong, and Dascha Polanco, who’ll make her debut on the show during its second season.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol
On Friday, October 18th, from 7-8 p.m. Eastern Time, catch the main stage event “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol” panel, as part of a larger discussion on the upcoming second season of the Daryl Dixon spinoff series. Premiering on AMC and AMC+ on September 29, this new chapter follows the adventures of Norman Reedus’ character, Daryl Dixon, alongside Melissa McBride reprising her role as Carol Peleiter. The storyline, “The Book of Carol,” delves into Daryl’s ongoing struggle with The Union of Hope in France, while Carol embarks on a quest to find her missing friend.
As a dedicated fan, I’m excitedly anticipating the panel discussion, which will unfold post the airing of the first three episodes from season 2’s six-part run. Among those gracing the panel are Gimple, our showrunner, directors Greg Nicotero and Dan Percival, along with series regulars Reedus and McBride – all serving as executive producers for this captivating series. Notably, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, who brings Laurent to life in the series, will also be joining the panel. I can hardly wait!
On Thursday, October 17th, from 12:45-2:15 p.m. Eastern Time, a special panel featuring Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches will take place on the main stage. During this event, attendees will have the opportunity to watch an exclusive preview of the second season’s premiere episode. The new season is set to air on AMC and AMC+ in early 2025, and it picks up where we left off with Rowan Mayfair (Alexandra Daddario) after she gives birth to the demon Lasher (Jack Huston).
Right after the show’s screening, executive producer Mark Johnson, showrunner Esta Spalding along with actors Harry Hamlin, Tongayi Chirisa, and Alyssa Jirrels will engage in a conversation about the forthcoming season and a chance for fans to ask questions.
