As a die-hard fan of Jeffrey Dean Morgan‘s electrifying performances, I am beyond thrilled about his new venture as the host and executive producer of Destination X. This travel adventure reality series seems like a perfect blend of my two favorite things: travel and mystery, with a dash of competition for good measure!
Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, known for his roles in “The Walking Dead” and “Dead City,” has been announced as the host for a new travel adventure reality show titled “Destination X.” This upcoming series will air on NBC. Morgan expressed excitement over the program’s concept due to its unique blend of travel, intrigue, and gaming elements.
I can’t wait to embark on this wild guessing game across the globe as Master of Ceremony, navigating players through challenges that test their mental and physical abilities.
The upcoming show marks Morgan’s second venture into unscripted television, following “Friday Night in With the Morgans” on AMC, which he co-hosted with his wife, Hilarie Burton Morgan, during the pandemic period.
According to recent news, Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been added to a brand new show that he’ll also help oversee as an executive producer. Corie Hensen, Executive Vice President of Unscripted Content, Competition, and Game Shows at NBCUniversal Entertainment, mentioned that “Jeffrey Dean Morgan fits the bill for the mysterious global traveler, making him an ideal host and mastermind for this upcoming journey-based series.
Destination X was originally conceived by Twofour, a renowned British production house. This captivating reality show skillfully combines elements of action, thrill, and contest to create an extraordinary blend that sets it apart from other shows in its genre.
NBCUniversal description of the series:
Viewers will follow contestants as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime but have no idea of their location. In order to win, they must figure out their mystery locations. Once they’re on the blacked-out Destination X bus, the journey transforms into a real-life game board, with challenges designed to offer clever clues as to their location, along with a few misdirects to keep them guessing. At the end of each episode, the contestant who places an X on a map furthest from the actual location packs their bags.
It’s not clear when exactly “Destination X” will debut, but it’s anticipated that the show will air on NBC in the year 2025.
Just dropped a new role in the latest season of Amazon Prime Video’s “The Boys”! This show was crafted by none other than Erik Kripke, famously known for his work on “Supernatural”. I stepped into the shoes of Joe Kessler, a CIA operative with connections to Karl Urban’s character, The Butcher. Can’t wait for you all to see it!
Following this, Morgan will once again play Negan Smith in The Walking Dead spinoff titled Dead City. Filming for the second season of the show has been completed, but a specific release date is still undetermined. However, viewers can anticipate the series to resume on AMC and AMC+ around 2025.
In May 2024, Highland Film Group made known that Morgan’s 2020 movie, “The Postcard Killings”, was to have a follow-up named “The Postcard Killer”. Morgan and his co-star Famke Janssen will return to their roles from the initial film.
