Today marks Varun Tej Konidela’s birthday, and to celebrate, production company UV Creations unveiled a thrilling new collaboration between the actor and director Merlapaka Gandhi. The upcoming film, provisionally called VT15, promises to be an Indo-Korean horror comedy.
The announcement for the new movie project falls on Varun Tej’s 35th birthday, where Merlapaka Gandhi will be the director and Thaman S responsible for the music. To build anticipation, the producers have revealed the first promotional poster of the film. This poster showcases a jar decorated with an intriguing dragon design at its core, surrounded by a Korean temple in flames.
From VT15’s initial poster, they announced, “The chilling will soon become comical, and a grand spectacle lies ahead. Wishing a joyous birthday to the multi-talented star Varun Tej, let’s create something extraordinary with #VT15 – an Indo-Korean Horror Comedy.

As per NewsBytes reports, it’s likely that about half of the movie “VT15” featuring Varun Tej will be shot in South Korea. Filming is anticipated to take place over a 40-day period, with shooting scheduled to begin as early as this month.
For his upcoming role, Varun Tej is undergoing intensive martial arts training, particularly in Taekwondo. While specific details about the plot are yet to be revealed, the film promises an innovative take on the horror-comedy genre. It aspires to combine aspects of Indian and Korean cinema for a distinctively captivating cinematic adventure.
Lastly, Varun Tej appeared in a movie called “Matka.” Unfortunately, the film didn’t fare well at the theater and began streaming on Amazon Prime Video soon afterward.
Take a look at the post below:
The movie, titled Matka, narrates the tale of Vasu, a man with unyielding resolve who seeks to break free from poverty and establish himself as a notable figure in the realm of gambling. Over a period of 24 years, from 1958 to 1982 in Visakhapatnam, it follows his transformative journey, starting as an ambitious gambler and eventually becoming a feared underworld figure.
The film draws its inspiration from the true story of Ratan Khetri, a Matka gambler, as well as incidents related to the Matka gambling industry. It explores the roots of this betting system that emerged prior to India’s division and was eventually banned.
