On Valentine’s Day, Vishwak Sen’s romantic film titled “Laila” hit the big screens, but it was met with a wave of criticism and calls for boycott. The controversy surrounding the movie started after actor Prudhvi made some politically charged remarks during Laila’s pre-release event, leading to widespread anger and the popular hashtag “#BoycottLaila” trending on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
Afterward, Vishwak offered an apology while maintaining that Laila would be a guaranteed source of enjoyment. However, on February 14th, Laila was met with universally unfavorable reviews, with many commenting on its explicitness and lowbrow material.
On various social platforms, actor Vishwak Sen publicly expressed remorse in a heartfelt letter to his followers and supporters. In the post, he admitted that his latest movies fell short of audience expectations. He specifically mentioned that his most recent film was met with constructive criticism, which he graciously accepted.
The actor added that his goal has consistently been to provide a new experience for viewers and that he greatly values their opinions. In response to questions about Laila’s explicit content, Vishwak stated, “Going forward, I pledge that regardless of whether my movies are mainstream or artistic, they will never step over the boundary of vulgarity.
In a recent statement, the star of Falaknuma Das expressed that moving forward, he won’t only strive for excellent films, but will meticulously make sure every single scene is impactful. He also expressed gratitude towards all the distributors, producers, actors, and directors who have played significant roles in his career journey.
