As a gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the announcement of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.’s PC release has me more excited than a panda at a bamboo buffet! The original game was a staple in my arcade days, and its remaster promises to bring back those nostalgic feelings with improved graphics, new features, and that classic rollback netcode support.
The highly anticipated remastered version of the timeless classic, “Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.”, has been officially confirmed for a complete launch on PC platforms shortly.
What is Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.?
Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. is an updated version of the original 3D fighting game, simply titled Virtua Fighter 5. In this game, you are given the opportunity to face off against the world’s most skilled martial artists in a test that measures your combat skills and physical strength.
This game is built upon the foundation of its predecessor, “Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown,” for the PlayStation 4. However, it introduces several new features, as well as improvements, in terms of gameplay mechanics and visuals.
Here are the key features of the game, taken from its official Steam page:
• The Ultimate Edition of this legendary game: Rollback Netcode support, gorgeous 4K visuals with updated high-res textures and more.
• Custom Combatants: Enter the ring with one of 19 playable characters. Master each of their unique fighting styles and customize them with distinctive costumes and items.
• The Full Experience: Enjoy the pinnacle of Virtua Fighter as you battle it out across your favorite modes like Rank Match, Arcade, Training, and Versus.
• Crush the Competition: Take on challengers from around the world as you compete with up to 16 players in new online modes including Tournaments and League.
We sadly do not yet have an exact release date, but we do know that it will launch sometime this winter, together with version 2.0 of Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown.
