Sethupathi broke down while filming Maharaja

While filming, Sethupathi was unable to suppress his true emotions during a scene where his character recounted a robbery that had occurred at his home.

I was completely taken aback when I realized, looking back on it, that his seemingly innocent conversation with the Maharaja was actually about the Maharaja’s daughter. Sadly, she had been a victim of sexual assault.

The nationally recognized actor was deeply affected and confessed, “To be honest, while recounting the third tale to the police, I lost composure. During the first two narrations, I managed to keep my emotions in check. However, the third time when a vivid mental image emerged, my tears were genuine.”
