Guided by director Vetrimaaran, this production garnered favorable feedback from audiences following its premiere. Now, about a month after its initial release in theaters, the film is available for streaming on a well-known platform.

Official trailer and plot of Viduthalai Part 2

Following Perumal, also known as “Vaathiyaar”, being apprehended, the authorities move him to a different facility, with Kumaresan being part of the escort team. En route, Vaathiyaar recounts his past and discloses how an unintentional homicide propelled him towards joining a communist movement and advocating for armed resistance. He clarifies that the train track bombing was an unfortunate incident rather than a deliberate act, thereby evoking sympathy from certain officers, including Kumaresan.

On my journey, I encountered an unexpected detour as Vaathiyaar’s group intercepted our convoy, miraculously rescuing him from an uncertain fate. However, the twist of events took a dark turn when the police cornered us later. Despite his peaceful surrender, the new leader meted out a tragic end to Vaathiyaar.

In the chaotic aftermath, transporting his body became a harrowing task. The truck I was driving veered off-course near a precipice, and in the ensuing confusion, I disappeared into the dense forest. In my final moments, I penned a heartfelt letter to my mother, expressing my farewells and assuring her that I likely gave my life in the service of righteousness.

Cast and crew of Viduthalai Part 2

In the sequel titled Viduthalai Part 2, the filmmaker Vetrimaaran takes charge with Vijay Sethupathi portraying Perumal “Vaathiyaar,” a character who leads Makkal Padai. Soori assumes the role of Constable Kumaresan, while Manju Warrier brings life to Perumal’s wife and Kishore appears as his guide.

In this film, Bhavani Sre plays Tamilarasi, while Gautham Vasudev Menon stars as DSP Sunil Menon I.P.S., a role also played by Rajiv Menon as A. Subramaniyan IAS. Bose Venkat portrays a harsh landlord, Manobala acts as a station master, and Vincent Asokan assumes the part of Mahalakshmi’s father. The screenplay is skillfully written by Vetrimaaran and Manimaran, with dialogue penned by Thai. Kandasaamy, Manimaran, and Vetrimaaran.
