As a die-hard fan who has followed Superstar Rajinikanth’s illustrious career since his early days, I must say that the decision to title the Telugu dubbed version of Vettaiyan as “Vettaiyan The Hunter” instead of “Vetagadu” is a wise move.
In theaters starting October 10, 2024, comes the highly anticipated movie starring Rajinikanth titled “Vettaiyan.” This multilingual film has chosen a Tamil name, but also features a tagline that resonates in other languages such as Telugu.
Recently, the creators explained their reasoning behind naming the Telugu-dubbed version of the film with a Tamil name instead of its expected Telugu title. In a statement, the production company Lyca Productions said, “Originally, we planned to call the Telugu dubbed version of ‘VETTAIYAN’ ‘VETAGADU’ in Telugu, and we had requested for this specific title.
Since the original title was not available, and to give the film an appropriate name that accurately represents its content, we chose to call it ‘VETTAIYAN The Hunter’ in all dubbed versions,” the creators explained further. They also expressed their appreciation for the audience’s support of the film and asked for continued cooperation as the movie is about to be released.
