Vijay Deverakonda currently has several exciting films in development, one of which is tentatively called VD14. Lately, director Rahul Sankrityan announced a significant update about this movie as anticipation builds. He disclosed that the team has started filming on Republic Day.
Rahul shared via his account that the initial work for the project had commenced, marking the occasion with a traditional pooja ceremony. The director also shared some pictures from the event and added the caption, “#VD14 update: Set construction began today with an auspicious start. A captivating story set in colonial history just placed its first stone on our 76th Republic Day. I’m confident that this film will be one of the strongest films ever made about India’s colonial past.

Last year on his 35th birthday, Vijay Deverakonda revealed that he’s collaborating with Rahul Sankrityan for their next venture. He posted an engaging image and captioned it, “Tales from the Haunted Realm”.

In simple terms, the forthcoming historical drama is set during the Colonial period and promises to be quite dramatic. This will mark Vijay Deverakonda’s second collaboration with director Rahul Sankrityan. Previously, they worked together on the horror-comedy film Taxiwaala, which was both well-received by critics and audiences alike.
It’s being speculated that Rashmika Mandanna could be cast as the main female character. If this turns out to be true, it would bring back the pairing from their movie “Dear Comrade.” At the moment, however, nothing has been confirmed officially.
Right now, Vijay Deverakonda is engrossed in the filming of his upcoming project, provisionally called VD12. This movie, helmed by Gowtham Tinnanuri, was initially slated for a March release this year. However, due to some unexpected events and to prevent a conflict with Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu, the premiere date has been postponed.
As a die-hard fan, I’m eagerly waiting for the day when my favorite movie finally hits the big screen! The rumor mill suggests it could be as soon as May 30th, but until that official announcement comes in, I can only dream and count down the days!
