On February 12, 2025, fans can expect to see the long-awaited first look of Vijay Deverakonda‘s film, temporarily called VD12, with news that Bollywood sensation Ranbir Kapoor could lend his voice for the Hindi version’s narration.
Based on reports from Hindustan Times, it’s been indicated that actor Ranbir Kapoor has recently completed recording the voice-over for the movie’s trailer in Mumbai. This news has sparked excitement among fans, although official confirmation is still pending.
Additionally, the report suggests that the film’s portrayal of Vijay will be a strong, intense role akin to Arjun Reddy’s character.
Furthermore, it’s been hypothesized in a report from Aakshavani that Junior NTR and Suriya could lend their voices for the Telugu and Tamil versions of the movie teaser, respectively. Yet, this speculation remains unverified by the filmmakers.
Speaking about the film titled VD12, it’s being hyped up as a gripping spy-action-thriller, with Vijay Deverakonda taking the main role. He’s anticipated to play a tough police officer who sports a rugged appearance, complete with short hair and a beard.
The movie, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri of Jersey fame, was originally scheduled for a theater release on March 28, 2025. However, there are whispers that it might be moved to a different date. Excitingly, the film’s teaser and official title are expected to be revealed soon.
Regarding Vijay’s acting career, his latest appearance was in the 2024 film titled “The Family Star”. In this role, he portrayed Govardhan, a thrifty family man trying to maintain his middle-class lifestyle. A dramatic twist occurs when he encounters and falls for Indu, played by Mrunal Thakur, which sets off a series of events that alter his life significantly. The film, directed by Parasuram, is a blend of romance and action.
Initially, The Family Star garnered unfavorable comments from reviewers and struggled financially at the box office. Subsequently, Vijay appeared briefly as a guest star in the film Kalki 2898 AD featuring Prabhas.
