As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of genre-blending titles that promised the world but often fell short. Yet, there’s an undeniable spark in Valve’s Deadlock that piques my curiosity. The concept of merging third-person shooter mechanics with MOBA gameplay is as intriguing as it is daunting.
Following several weeks of conjecture, a contentious initial article, and now, Valve has officially revealed Deadlock – their upcoming fusion of third-person shooter and MOBA genres. Regrettably, the opportunity to play this game is currently restricted to invites from its playtesters, meaning not everyone can participate during its preliminary stage. Given that it’s still in its developmental phase, the development team has mentioned that there will be a significant amount of placeholder art and experimental gameplay, which may evolve once the final version is released.
The company, Valve, hasn’t specified a release date yet for the game, Deadlock, since the Steam page mentions that the launch date is still undetermined (“to be announced”). Nevertheless, feel free to add it to your wishlist so you can stay informed about any future updates.
This is a developing story, and more information will follow soon.
