For about five years now, Valorant Game has been in existence and has gone through significant changes during this period. The developers at Riot Games are planning ahead for Valorant’s future, and they have recently announced that they will be moving the game to Unreal Engine 5 starting this July.
Riot Games revealed plans to transition Valorant from Unreal Engine 4 to UE5, as announced in their 5th anniversary video and a press release sent to Shacknews. Andy Ho, the game’s executive producer, explained that they have been developing Valorant using Unreal Engine 4 for more than a decade. The shift to Unreal Engine 5 is set to occur with the 11.02 update, scheduled for late July.
According to Riot, playing Valorant on UE5 will have a comfortable feel for players, enhanced by smoother frame rates and faster data loading. The upcoming Patch 11.02 is a significant first download, but those who log in during its active period can earn a unique gun buddy as a bonus.
In an upcoming update this September, Valorant is set to introduce the much-awaited replay feature. Additionally, players should anticipate a series of balance adjustments as Riot Games reassesses the characters and gameplay styles within Valorant.
