As a long-time wrestling fan and someone who’s been following Bobby Lashley’s career since his TNA days, I must say, the anticipation for his AEW debut has been palpable! After the unexpected turn of events at AEW WrestleDream 2024, it seems we’ll have to wait a bit longer to witness The All Mighty in action.
News is out about ex-WWE star Bobby Lashley: It seems he’s joined forces with AEW following his departure from WWE at SummerSlam. Fans had hoped to see him make his debut at AEW WrestleDream 2024, but there was no sign of him during the event in Tacoma, Washington over the weekend.
Bobby Lashley, it seems, has joined AEW following previous reports. Notably, he was part of The Hurt Business alongside MVP and Shelton Benjamin in the past. Both these stars have already established themselves in the promotion. More intriguingly, MVP recently interacted with Prince Nana, handing him Swerve Strickland’s business card while expressing dissatisfaction over Nana’s management of Strickland.

At AEW WrestleDream, during the segment of former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland alongside Prince Nana, MVP and Benjamin interrupted their conversation. Throughout the event, it was MVP and Strickland who finally met face-to-face. Unexpectedly, Strickland declined MVP’s proposal and opted to align with his manager, Prince Nana, causing a heated argument between them, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin.
It was anticipated that Lashley would appear during this part, but he didn’t. As per a Fightful Select report (paid subscription required), AEW officials opted against including two major hometown brawls in the same show, considering they had already featured a main event beatdown of Bryan Danielson, the local hero. The report further explained that Lashley was not seen backstage at AEW WrestleDream 2024.
Bobby Lashley expected to arrive in AEW soon
After a successful stint elsewhere in 2021, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve officially re-signed with AEW full-time! But just as I was about to celebrate, MVP and Shelton Benjamin dropped by to ask if I’m free on Wednesday. Could it be Shelty B vs Lio Rush on Dynamite? Let’s find out!

Despite enthusiastic fans looking forward to former WWE Superstar Bobby Lashley’s debut at AEW WrestleDream 2024, it did not transpire. However, the promotion hinted subtly about Lashley joining soon, which might occur during the next episode of AEW Dynamite.
At WrestleDream 2024, AEW broadcasted a behind-the-scenes interview in which Lio Rush announced his return to the promotion. But, his conversation was abruptly halted as MVP and Shelton Benjamin barged in. In their interaction, MVP inquired if Rush could participate in a match on the following Wednesday. To this, Rush affirmed his readiness, prompting MVP to suggest he’d discuss it with Tony Khan.
Following the recent altercation, there’s been much chatter among fans that MVP is arranging a fight for Lio Rush on Wednesday’s Dynamite. It’s possible that Lio Rush might square off against Bobby Lashley, who could potentially make his appearance this week. We’ll just have to wait and see who Lio Rush’s opponent will turn out to be on Dynamite.
