Update on Becky Lynch’s Free Agent Status in WWE

As a dedicated gamer and wrestling enthusiast with over two decades of fandom under my belt, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia upon hearing about Becky Lynch’s current status with WWE. Having grown up watching the likes of The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Trish Stratus grace the ring, it’s hard not to feel a connection to the characters that have become an integral part of our lives.

Becky Lynch has been absent from WWE television screens since her bout with Liv Morgan on WWE RAW in May. During the WWE King and Queen of the Ring tournament, they met, but unfortunately for Lynch, she dropped her Women’s World Heavyweight Championship to Liv Morgan.

In response to her loss, Lynch exercised her option for a rematch during the May 27th episode of WWE RAW. Regrettably, she was defeated again due to outside interference from Dominik Mysterio, The Judgment Day, and Braun Strowman. Following this setback, Lynch shared an enigmatic message on Instagram.

This message ignited fan discussions about whether or not Becky Lynch might be retiring. It was later revealed that Lynch’s WWE contract ended in June, and no new deal negotiations had taken place at that time. Given that her contract expired, she has been on an extended break from WWE. Lately, there’s been some news about Becky Lynch’s current position within the WWE roster while she’s been away from television.

Becky Lynch’s name still listed on WWE’s weekly internal roster

On WrestleVotes Radio, they shared a recent development about Becky Lynch, the ex-WWE Women’s World Champion. It was disclosed that her name is still included in WWE’s weekly list of talent. As per Joey Votes, her name persists on their internal roster. This list gets released together with the television script every Monday and Friday.

Though the news doesn’t definitively show that Becky Lynch has entered a new contract, it suggests that she remains affiliated with the team. The recent reports also mention that her name hasn’t been erased from the roster since she took a break, as Triple H put it. This leaves open questions about whether she actually became a free agent or if there was a pre-hiatus agreement in place.

It’s believed that her recent promotion provided her an opportunity to temporarily step away while still preparing for her comeback. Her appearance on the company’s internal list indicates she’s still part of WWE. It won’t be long before she puts pen to paper on a new contract, given that her husband, Seth Rollins, remains active in the promotion.
