As a seasoned gamer of Thai GL dramas, I must say that 2024 has truly been a golden year for us fans! The rise of GL shows alongside the popular BL series is not only refreshing but also a testament to the diversity and inclusivity of the Thai entertainment industry.

As a long-time fan of Asian dramas, I must say that 2024 has been an exceptional year for me, particularly if we’re talking about Thai GL (Girl Love) shows. Having followed the Thai entertainment scene for quite some time now, I’ve seen the rise of BL (Boy Love) dramas gaining popularity, but it’s the emergence of GL series that truly piqued my interest.

Affair

The television series titled “The Affair” is slated to debut on August 30, 2024, featuring Sonya Saranphat Pedersen and Lookmhee Punyapat Wangpongsathaporn in the leading roles. The narrative revolves around Seang Pleng (played by Sonya), the daughter of a boss, and Wanviva (portrayed by Lookmhee), the maid’s daughter. They forge a strong friendship as they grow up together. However, their lives take a different path when Seang Pleng’s family faces financial ruin and is forced to part ways with Wanviva. The story then unfolds after more than a decade, when these childhood friends reconnect.

The drama will be available to watch on iQIYI and the CHANGE2561 YouTube channel. 

Reverse 4 You

In August of 2024, a captivating new Thai drama titled “Reverse 4 You The Series” will make its debut. This intriguing show is set to air on August 31, 2024, featuring the talented actors Christine Gulasatree Michalsky and Mae Methakarn Anektanasuwan.

Unlock Your Love

Title characterizing the Thai GL drama is “Unraveling Love,” starring B Mine Jiratchaya Komontut and Near Inthira Thammajaroen in the principal roles. Additionally, Chacha Rita Ramnarong and Cake Nawaporn Chansuk take on supporting roles. The premiere of this heartwarming drama is set for Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

In a previous relationship, Heart (Rain) was betrayed, causing her to shut herself off emotionally. However, when Affection (Love) entered her life, she began to open up once more. Eventually, Love managed to break through Rain’s defenses. Meanwhile, the storyline also explores the romantic journey of a second couple: Chacha (Dean) and Dessert (Pat).

Pluto

Pluto, a Thai Gay Love Story, is eagerly awaited by many. This GMMTV project was revealed at the GMMTV 2024 PART 1 event. As of now, Pluto is being made, but its release date hasn’t been announced yet. However, it’s expected to come out later this year.

The narrative of Pluto centers around twin sisters, Ai-oon and Ob-oom (played by Namtan Tipnaree Weerawatnodom). On her wedding night, Ob-oom requests a favor from Ai-oon, asking her to break things off with May (Film Rachanun Mahawan), Ob-oom’s lover. However, tragedy occurs when Ob-oom and her husband are involved in an accident. To carry out her sister’s wish, Ai-oon seeks out May but is taken aback when she finds out that May is actually blind. As Ob-oom lies in a coma, Ai-oon decides to stand by May’s side instead.

In addition to previously mentioned productions, an enticing new project titled Petrichor, featuring Engfa Waraha and Charlotte Austin, is underway. Additionally, enthusiasts should anticipate Thai GL dramas such as Sunshine in the Wind, Us, Mate, and The Last Case.
