Unni Mukundan confirms dropping Marco 2
In a recent Instagram post, Unni Mukundan addressed a query from a fan regarding potential plans for Marco 2.
It turns out that the Malayalam actor announced his decision to abandon further installments of the film series, as he found the constant negativity towards the project since its beginning to be too intense.
He expressed, “I’m sorry, but I’ve decided to abandon the Marco series due to excessive negativity surrounding it. I aim to create something larger and more impressive than Marco next time. Thank you for your affection and support. Here’s to more positivity! Best wishes.
Marco’s blockbuster worldwide box office records
In January 2025, Unni Mukundan’s movie “Marco” concluded its cinema release, amassing a significant revenue figure at the worldwide box office. The movie earned an astounding total of approximately Rs. 104 crore globally by its end.
In spite of facing harsh criticism and backlash, it ultimately became a massive venture and proved to be highly profitable within the Malayalam film industry.
Unni Mukundan’s alleged tiff with his manager over praising Tovino Thomas
Recently, there has been renewed media attention surrounding the actor following reports of him allegedly attacking his manager. It is said that the manager filed a complaint after Unni appeared distressed upon hearing praise for Tovino Thomas’ performance in the movie Narivetta.
Later on, Unni Mukundan provided a correction, indicating that the situation had been exaggerated. He also mentioned that the manager’s assertion about his jealousy towards Tovino was baseless.
